From the original enquiry to the reservation and eventual arrival, the service and advice was great. I appreciated the detailed directions offered for our arrival and the opportunity to leave our luggage on the boat before check-in time. The boat itself is spacious and comfortable - we were two couples and never felt as if we were in each others' way. The bathrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen was fitted with the necessary appliances to enable a self-catered visit. Supermarkets are within walking distance and the location is central, but not too busy area with too many tourists.

We arrived late due to an airline delay, but our host, Ed, was there to greet us and give a pleasant orientation and history of the "Generaal Praag". Our stay was perfect. We were the right distance from the noise and rush of Central Amsterdam with a variety of restaurants to choose from when we wanted to go out and a convenient tram stop 5 minutes away. The boat itself is solid, quiet, very private, well designed and nicely finished. If I had a choice between staying at any Ritz-Carlton and the Generaal Praag, I would choose the boat all the time. We visited several local grocery stores and wine shops and usually ate breakfast on the boat to get an early start on sightseeing. The kitchen is very up to date with all the appliances you could need to prepare a full meal for up to six people. The three private bedrooms each have their own modern bath and the ambient lighting was sufficient for moving around in the middle of the night without disturbing the house. All things considered, if we are ever in Amsterdam again, which I hope to be, our first choice for our stay will be the "Generaal Praag" or any of the "Boat People" boats.

I visited Amsterdam for a few days with my friends from college. And I must say the location was excellent. The houseboat was clean, had ample space and was beautiful. The hosts were really sweet and helped us out with directions in the city. Would love to stay again!

Friendly host, instructive information. Location suitably near to city center. Nice restayrants, cafes and sypermarkets near by. We specially recommend Pekelharring.

The house boat was fantastic and our kids loved staying here. It was very spacious and very nice decorated. It was only a short walk to several coffee shops, excellent restaurants, grocery markets and the tram stops. I would highly recommend as this was a fantastic experience

We thoroughly enjoyed the very unique experience of staying on this beautiful houseboat on the Amstel River. Plenty of space and lots of natural light -- plus the lovely front deck for watching boats go by. And it was perfect to have 3 bedrooms each with its own full bathroom. We're already planning out next stay!

We loved our stay on The Generaal Prague! The accomodations were true to the description. The neighborhood was great, we could easily walk or take the tram everywhere. The location was centralized, but was quiet. We were lucky enough to be there for King's Day, the deck on the boat was a perfect front row seat to watching the festivities on The Amstel! I also appreciated all the info The Boat People provided. We would definitely stay on our next visit to Amsterdam!

We had a wonderful time. Mariette was there when we arrived and shows us kindly the flat. The boat is a very good slepping quarter for a trip to Amsterdam. It was clean when we arrived and we find it as shown on the pictures befor. We had a really nice view to the city and over the river. The boat includes everything you need for a nice holiday. We recommend it kindly to everybody who wants to have a nice trip to this town. Thank you for a great time!

The boat was phenomenal! I can't say enough about the service we received and the environment. We loved our vacation and would recommend this place to everyone.

Check-in was super easy with the instructions provided on Airbnb. We met Ed, the owner of the boat on our second day, he stopped by to greet us and to ensure everything was okay with our stay. The boat has everything we needed and exceeded our expectations. It's a gorgeous boat and every detail was considering during it's reconstruction. The location is great, we felt like we were living like locals. It is mostly walkable to most sites. In the mornings we ran to the MLK park just under a mile away. There are many restaurants a couple of blocks away, and a bit further you will find the Albert Cuyp Market (a must see!). If you get a chance, watch the sunrise from the boat :) This was a completely unique experience and we highly recommend it!!

I arrived a couple hours after the check-in date and after a quick phone call we were in the houseboat and getting settled. Moments later the owner showed up to welcome us and give us a tour. The place was even nicer than the pictures let on. If we could have stayed there longer we definitely would have!

Amazing apartment

We had a great 10-day stay on the boat, and the host was very friendly, communicative, and accommodating. The location is nice and quiet, and the city centre is within easy reach. Recommended!

The boat was everything that we expected and even more.

We stayed 3 nights with 5 people in the houseboat. We really enjoyed our stay. We came during winter time and at first were worried that we would be cold, however the heating system is working very well and easy to use. The interior design is also very nice and welcoming. It felt great just staying at the houseboat while chatting or enjoying all the amenities that it offers, with top notch TV options and WIFI connection. Overall we were really happy with our stay with our expectations fully met. The neighbourhood is quiet and it is 20mns away from Amsterdam Ceentral station by the tram 4, which is 5mns walk from the houseboat. We would definitely recommend this place for small family or friends gathering and to live the high end houseboat experience. And our host was really helpful in answering any questions we had which made the experience even better.

It was perfect. There was a group of us and having the ability to make dinner and have a coffee in the morning before heading out was such a treat. Amsterdam is an amazing city! We treated ourselves to a few dinners out which were fantastic. We would happily return to the boat house and are very thankful for the experience. Mariette was very kind and helpful. Huge recommendation for this very special boat house.

Beautiful accommodation and a great spot. Hosts were very clear and made good efforts to make sure we arrived with no complications.
